To create a File Link for Uploading the Same File each month

If you will be sending us the same file, from the same location repeatedly (for example, your Quickbooks backup file), it will save you steps each month by setting up a File Link.

1  - Click on File Link in the Management pane of your Home Portal.

2 - Click Create New File Link button above the title bar.

3 - Follow instructions 3-9 above (To send a file to us).

4 - You will see the File Link title under the Files Center pane of your Home Portal.

5 - The first time you click on the Link you will be asked to allow us to install a little piece of software on your computer.  You need to allow the software to be installed and you need to have Java Script enabled on your computer.

6 - Each month, after you have made your backup file, log onto our Virtual Office, click on this Link and then click Upload.  Before you Upload, you can add to or change the description if you wish.

To download a file from us

1 - Click on Download Files (or Utility Files) below the file cabinet in the left pane of your Home Portal.

2 - All documents that have been uploaded exclusively for you as well as documents uploaded for all of my clients are listed in this screen.

3 - Right click on the file and select Save Target As.

4 - Using the Windows Save As screen, select the folder that you want to save the file in and click Save

5 - After the file has been successfully downloaded you can Delete the file that was uploaded exclusively to you (the Delete button will not be available if the file was not posted to you exclusively). I recommend deleting files that I have posted for you after you have successfully downloaded them. This keeps your Documents screen uncluttered and also lets me know that you have downloaded the file.
